Studio Art Tour

Have you ever done a road trip to art destinations? Let me tell you about our annual local Studio Tour event I take part in. As the shopper/traveler you follow the map to destinations of your choosing to see the artist of your selections. As the artist, I set up a display of my art for sale and hope people stop at my site and shop. I was not in my own studio, but with four other artists in a historic community center building. I set up in the sunroom. Perfect!

The part I like best about the tour is being able to visit with people interested in my gyotaku art. It gets us out into the public areas to interact. Having a chance to explain my gyotaku fish printing technique and answer questions is fun and rewarding. As a previous educator, I guess I still like to share information! The interactions are also a chance to find out what they like. That gives me new directions and inspirations. I have met so many wonderful people over the past four years I’ve been involved. Repeat customers are the best. Yes, I look forward to these three crazy busy days every mid-July.

I belong to this local art group comprised of about 70 artists that are able to share and sell their art in a wonderful non-profit gallery. The once-a-year Studio Tour is organized and set up so we can get out of the gallery setting, set up our art and sell direct to the people who make the road trip to our locations. It is a fun event and many people do all fifteen stops. All types of art are available - the more variety the better. It’s a summer thing to do. I declare this year was a success!

I lead a team that develops marketing communications strategies. We produce videos, design websites, and create digital media for forward-oriented nonprofit organizations and businesses.

Because video storytelling plays such a significant part of online marketing, I am heavily involved in video production, every day. Our prolific little agency is constantly involved in helping businesses, and especially nonprofits, tell their unique stories. In social media. On websites. With video. If you aren't using video to tell your organization's story and to grow your business, why not?
